It’s a first for the Marion County Public Library–and apparently a first for Lebanon, the Heart of Kentucky. It’s the MCPL Comic Con, set for Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the library, and it promises to be a great event. Cosplay, the Gamerz Truck, vendors, food trucks, DJ Yung Greg, gaming tournaments…and more. Keep up with all the details and tournament rules in two ways:

There’s no advance registration; signup for cosplay contests is at the library upon arrival.

Vendors: Many different vendors will be set up in Stewarts Creek & Scott’s Ridge Meeting Rooms 12-4 including Falling Star Candles (hand poured candles), Unique Crafts & Woodworks (upcycled liquor bottle lamps, tiki torches, etc…), Liyah’s Closet (custom jewelry), Little Patch of Heaven Farm (goat milk soap and bath products), Tap21 Boutique (tumblers, coasters), Foraged Fauna (fairytale weaponry, bookmarks, hair accessories, containers), Midnight Mercury (slimes),Sarah Kuchar (paintings, paint pours, resin jewelry)
Mario Kart Tournament: 12-2 Sign Up at the LIbrary upon arrival, open to 16 participants, winner receives a trophy, all ages
Smash Bros Tournament: 2-4 Sign Up at the Library upon arrival, open to 16 participants, winner gets a trophy, all ages
Magic the Gathering Tournament: 12-3 Open to 8 people sign ups at the library, all ages, pre-made decks only (no personal decks), winner receives a trophy
Board Game Room: 12-4 Located in Design Den, participants can choose a board game to try out (Play an old favorite or find something new), we will be debuting some new to the library board games!
DJ: 12-4 DJ Yung Greg will be spinning for us to provide some great atmosphere
Circulation Desk (checkout, notary, printing, computers, aka normal library services) will only be open till 2 p.m. (normal library closing time)
