Students and staff will get a trial run for the upcoming school year on August 2 when MCPS hosts a district-wide Transition Day.
The modified school day is intended to allow students to experience a school day, learn important practices and procedures, and have fun during the process.
Transition Day will begin at normal school time, but will release at 1:00 pm.
MCPS will provide transportation, although families may opt to drop-off and pick-up students. Please make sure your child knows how they will be transported in the afternoon (bus or parent pick-up); if you’d like your child dropped off at a different address in the afternoon, please send a note. Students will also receive breakfast and lunch while at school on Transition Day.
While attendance is not required, we certainly hope families take advantage of Transition Day as a way to get students — especially those who are transitioning to a new building — acclimated to their schools for the upcoming year.
