Following in Ms. Belinda’s curriculum, new dance teacher Davina Briggs joins us for Saturday morning Ballet dance at KCA. Tuition and more Class Info at www.kyclassicarts.com under ticketing.
Ages 5-7 from 10am-10:45am
Ages 8-11 from 10:45-11:30am
Ages 12-Adult from 11:30-12:30pm.
Davina is a Marion County resident for the last few years after moving from Winchester, Kentucky. She was classically trained in the Vaganova method for 14 years. She has been in leading roles in classical performances as well as original contemporary ballets such as Creation, The Ten Virgins, The Christmas Story, and Alice in Alice in Wonderland with KBT’s pre-show. She participated in the highest level of Ballet Magnificat’s summer intensive in 2010, and also Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet’s intensive in 2015.
Davina started teaching at the age of 14, has taught all levels and ages in ballet and pointe, interpretive dance, worship dance, and choreography at 5 different schools, Winchester Christian Ballet, Dancer’s Pointe, Barbara Ann’s School of Dance, Dancer’s Studio, and KRDT. She has studied Australian Physio therapist, Lisa Howell’s curriculum for correct technique and pointe performance. In the summer of 2018 she began studying ballroom and Latin dances, which she greatly enjoys! In 2019 she became certified in PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique).
Davina created and directed two original mini ballets ‘You Are Special’ based off of the Max Lucado book and ‘The True Gift of Friendship’. She has completed 14 years of teaching dance! Her main passion is sharing the love of dance with others!
She is thankful to continue to teach dance even as she continues her homesteading journey with her new husband Curtis Briggs in Gravel Switch KY.
