Over the past 21 years our
community has served between 250 – 300 meals to individuals from Marion County. We serve
members of our community that are sick and shut in, those who lack transportation to join us at
Centre Square or that may lack the resources to provide a meal for themselves, or their families.
We serve community members that are home alone or working locally with no family or friends
to celebrate the holiday with. We serve members that may have to work for the holiday and may
not be able to have a Thanksgiving meal and we serve members that may come just to enjoy a
festive, community event with others. Whatever the reason, it is an honor to host this event that
was the dream of Mr. Henry Lee Bell Sr. who passed away in 2008. His dream has continued to
thrive because of the individuals, businesses, churches, schools, and other organizations in this
community who have partnered with us to ensure that we continue this momentous event. This
event would not have been successful without our community partners who donated their time,
energy, and money to provide the venue, food, paper products, decorations, transportation, and
service.
