Join us on December 3rd from 11AM – 1PM for our third annual Book & Chocolate Exchange! Bring a new or gently used book to swap, and your favorite chocolate!
Jolabokaflod is an Islandic tradition that began after WWII when many nations were rebuilding their economies. Although many things were hard to come by during this time, the Icelandic people had plenty of paper, and a love of literature. Thus a tradition began, later adding in chocolate to sweeten the deal.
As librarians, we love this tradition and think the Icelanders may be on to something. We would like to share this tradition with our community. We hope you love it as much as we do.
